The Canary Islands is an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, located next to African coast and belong to the Kingdom of Spain. Canaries consist of seven volcanic origin islands: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Fuerteventura and La Graciosa.
You can get to the Canary Islands by air, bacouse there are airports on all islands. Most European cities has direct conection to Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, the bigest islands, but if you are going to fly from United States, flights usually go inderectly - via Madrid.
This seven islands are spaced out that you need only one day to sail from one island to another, so this archipelago is a fantastic place to sail.
If you are going to spend your holiday on beaches the Canary Islands is one of the best place for this trip - weather is warm and sunny all year round. There are many activities there - mini golf, biking, hiking etc.
