Nokia Download! is available on most Series 60 handsets and some Series 40 mobiles.
This service offerings categorised software - installing this app you are able to download applications, games, tones, graphics, videos in to your handset.
To be honest Nokia Download! is the worst service among such solutions as Android Market, Apple App Store or BlackBerry Application Centre.
The interface number of apps and app descriptions are poor. Installation is disturbing - with multiple confirmation messages and incongruous file management system. Billing system is unclear too - there are no pricing information available.
Download! is attempt by Nokia to provide application distribution system but it looks distinctly amateurish.

T-mobile G2 like HTC Touch HD

New T-mobile, Android powered phone is believed to be announced on Jan 26th. This mobile will be called G2, T-mobile has registered a trademark G2 and domain T-MobileG2.com.
New device will be similar to G2 but has a few differences, like 5MP camera with flash and auto-focus, front facing VGA camera, video messaging. The rumour siad that new mobile will be a modified HTC Touch HD.

qigi i6Another Android Platform mobile will be launched soon. Qigi i6, like-iPhone smartphone, is produced by TechFaith Wireless. This device will come in two versions, Windows Mobile and Google Android.
Qigi i6 is based on Marvell’s 624MHz PXA310 chip with GPS capabilities, supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0. The i6 measures 4.3 x 2.3 x 0.58 inches.
This TechFaith mobile has 128MB of RAM, 256MB of flash storage and microSD slot. It is also equipped with 2.8-inch touchscreen display with 320 x 240 resolution and 2 megapixel camera.

Opera Mini 4.2 for Google Android

Opera has ported the final version of its, J2ME based, mobile phone browser, to Google OS.
Any T-Mobile G1 user is able to download this app via Android Market. T-mobile G1, also known as a HTC Dream, is the first smartphone that uses Google’s Android platform.
Opera mini also works with iPhone and some Windows Mobile, Blackbery devices.
This browser offers such features like easy to access and navigate controls, bookmarking, searching, zooming and saving.
Opera Mini also supports more than 90 languages and many border colors.

BlackBery Storm

BlackBery Storm is a touch smartphone form Research In Motion (RIM). This is first device from RIM without a physical keyboard, and it is a competitor to Apple iPhone.
Storm is besed on 528 MHz Qualcomm processor and has 3.25″ HVGA 360×480 screen. Storm is a multimedia mobile, suports such audio and video formats as MPEG4, WMV MP3, H.263, H.264, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, or WMA ProPlus
1GB onboard memory and 128 MB Flash can be expanded by microSD card. A 3.2 cammera with autofocus and flash and bluethoof are another strength of this mobile.

Skpe is under Google attack

Google has added new feature to Gmail and Google Apps services. This “Skpe like”, a voice and video calling service is another free worldwide VoIP alternative.
This service is implemented in web browser, and there is no need to live this application to make calls. All you need is to download and install a 0.2MB browser plug in. Then, to Gmail’s instant messaging chat will be added such options as “Start a video chat” and “Start a voice chat”.
Gmail is not another copycat service, but best-known brand on the web, so this is not good news for eBay, Skype owner.

Android ported to BeagleBoard

Google Android platform, OS dedicated to mobile phones, was ported to Beagle Board, a low-cost and low-power, single-board computer produced by Texas Instruments. This project was made by elinux.org members.
BeagleBoard was created by TI engineers, as a demonstration of Texas Instrument’s OMAP3530 chips. This small (3 inch by 3 inch) device based on OMAP3530 @ 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 core processor, includes 128MB LPDDR RAM and 256MB NAND Flash memory and has got such peripheral connections like HDMI, S-Video, USB2.0 OTG (mini AB), SD/MMC card slot, RS232 port, stereo in and out jack and JTAG connections.
Porting Android platform to BeagleBoard demonstrates that it can be used viably on alternative hardware, for example TI OMAP besed, like Nokia’s N Series.

T-mobile G1 - cost of materials

Estimated cost of hardware is $143.89.
The most costly componentof the G1 is the baseband, at $28.49. This Qualcomm’s chip is a combination of an fast ARM11 microprocessor for multimedia applications and an ARM7 architecture core for modem functions.
Next parts are Sharp’s TFT-LCD display, at $19.67, 3 megapixel camera with autofocus at $12.13 and Radio Frequency/Power Amplifier, responsible for 3.5G network connection, at $9.84.
