Gortex fabric is a material consisting of specila membrane that is base of all Gortex products. Gortex contains more then 9 billion of microscopic pores per square inch.
These microscopic pores are more then 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, but 700 times larger than water vapor molecule. This all couse that the Gortex fabric is waterproof from the outside and prevent water from getting in, but allow the water vapor to escape from the inside.
Gortex laminate, which is used for jacket, pants or shoes production, is constructed from Gortex membrane bonded between extremely breathable high-performance fabrics. All Gortex products are waterproof, windproof and breathable. For absolute liquid resistance and waterproofness, gortex are secured by GORE-SEAM® TAPE.
