Lanzaroti is an island located in the Atlantic Ocean, he most easterly of the Canary Islands archipelago, 125 km off the Africa coast and 1,000 km from the Spain Coast.
Lanzaroti, like others Canary Islands, is of volcanic origin, but this island has the most interesting volcanic scenery.
Dry and mild climate make a Lanzaroti a godd year-round holidays destination, temperatures ranging to 29°C in the summer.
Lanzaroti is famous from beautiful sandy beaches such as Papagayo and Playa Grande. On the west side of Lanzaroti, there are beaches that are world famous for its surf conditions - Famara and La Santa.
Island has a duty free tax status, so alcohol, cigarettes and perfumes are much cheaper than in the rest of the EU.
Lanzaroti is quieter than others islands - Gran Canaria or Tenerife, but it is an attractive place to stay in villas or apartments, and there are a good number of hotels too.
