Maldives is group of 26 atolls (115 sq mi) located in the Indian Ocean, southwest of Sri Lanka. Climate of 1,190 Maledives coral islands is warm and humid, with average temperature 29 - 32 degrees Celsius.
Maldives atolls are formed from coral structures, ringlike coral formations are enclosed by a lagoon, and this gives the Maldives paradise-like appearance. Maldives are built with low lying islands, the highest point is about 8 feet above sea level.
Maledives is a paradise for diving, warm temperatures and highest level of visibility - 50 metres, makes that Maledives are perfect destination for diving or snorkeling over the shallow reefs.
